The greatest asset of any
school, college, or university is its teaching faculty. That truth applies
especially to Long Ridge Writers Group, because we have no campus, no
classrooms, no hallowed halls, no ivy-covered walls.
Instead, we have a unique
home-study program that pairs you with your personal instructor, who studies your
Writing Test and starts your training at the correct level. He or she
guides you from your first assignment until you complete the program, and teaches
you how to write, helps you to find your fiction genre or nonfiction category—then
shows you how to market what you write to editors and publishers!
Building your writing confidence
Our instructors are extraordinarily well qualified: They are
all published writers or professional editors, or both. We have handpicked them
from the practical world of publishing—not from the academic world of
colleges and universities—and trained them to teach
Breaking into
Print®. They are sensitive to a new writer’s insecurity and
need to build confidence, because they themselves were once beginners.
Our instructors have written and
edited more than 900 books and 20,000 stories and
articles in virtually every area of fiction and nonfiction including humor,
mystery, short stories, adventure, romance, politics, religion, how-to, science
fiction, book reviews, the environment, travel, family life, and many more.
